Peppermint Hot Chocolate

This rich chocolatey drink is the ultimate recipe for the holidays. I love the addition of the peppermint extract as it balances out all of the punchy flavours. It’s quick and easy to make and you can also make it in large portions to serve lots of friends and family. 


Even though the weather is hot for us over the Christmas holidays you can’t beat a silky smooth hot chocolate. This recipe is also on the healthier side as it’s made from cacao, maple syrup and dark chocolate. If you’re looking to change things up you can also add things like vanilla or cinnamon. 

1 cup milk of choice, I use oat
1 tbsp cacao powder
1 tbsp dark chocolate, chopped
1 tsp maple syrup 
½ tsp peppermint extract

Add all of the ingredients to a saucepan, whisk and cook over medium heat until hot and the chocolate has melted.
