Meet Allison
Tell us a little bit about what you do at Billabong? I’ve been a part of the Billabong team for 14 years now…Wowza! I’ve had the pleasure of designing all categories during my years here and now, as Creative Director, my role is to set the direction for print/pattern,color, trend, overall vibe & styling for each season! It’s an amazing gig that I feel very fortunate to engage in every day.
Any exciting things you’ve been working on lately (we can keep a secret…)? Well, don’t tell anyone, but I was just in Morocco for an inspiration trip for Spring 2020! In our world we’re almost always touching at least three seasons at a time, so I have a hard time remembering what year we’re actually living in :/. While I’m concepting one season, we’re styling and prepping for photoshoots and sales samples for the other, and then production approving a third. You definitely have to be at peace with the constant creative juggle!
How would you describe your everyday style? I’m a bit all over the place with how I dress (with one common thread that my hair is nearly always a bit salty & unbrushed)…I definitely to my mood and what I have going on that day. I mix a lot of vintage in with new found pieces. In the summertime, I almost always have a bikini or a one-piece as my 1st layer just in case I can jump in the water. I really love all white, or earthy, neutral colors and dressing in a tonal palette…however, I’ve been shocking myself a bit lately with loving bright pinks & lilacs & oranges! I guess it’s safe to say my style is totally all over the place!!
Where would you wear this look? Up N Over Overalls+ Meshed Up One Piece + Take Detours Quilted Jacket + own sandals + own hat
I would wear these overalls pretty much anywhere…work (thank god we work in a chill environment), weekend cruising, roadtrip, farmers market….all that good stuff! I love that these have such a fresh take on utility vibes!
What are some of your favorite local hidden gems or things to do in California…? We’re pretty much always at the beach on the weekend…lately it’s Doheny ‘cause my two little chicas love to surf and it’s such a mellow wave for them. When I can get a weekend hall-pass, I love the Rose Bowl & Long Beach Flea Market.
Since we celebrate summer all year round’ are there any new swim styles you’re eying? I’m obsessed with our Tanga bottom…it’s super cheeky and one of our most flattering fits!!
‘Overall’ what is something that keeps you loving your job + keeps you inspired? I love that my work always keeps me hungry for inspiration, whether in our own backyard or some dreamy far away place. It’s pretty magical to dream up an idea, and watch it develop into a real life collection that passes through the hands of so many talented and hardworking folks. Then the ultimate reward is paddling out and seeing a girl glide down a wave wearing our suits or simply walking down the street looking beautiful in a Billabong get-up! It never gets old!!
Meet Hannah (and Meena – one of our favorite fury office friends)
Tell us a little bit about what you do at Billabong? I am the Global Ecommerce Director. I focus on building the merchandising strategy for the website, and growing the business
Any exciting things you’ve been working on lately (we can keep a secret…)? I am planning a trip to Wyoming and Montana next month to explore the glaciers, see the bison and bears, and Yellowstone National Park. I always travel internationally, but there is so much beauty that America has to offer. I want to get a chance to see all the natural wonders knowing that there is a chance they may not be there forever
How would you describe your everyday style? Casual and effortless. I love feminine mixed in with tomboy. Ruffles mixed with a pair of vintage jeans, or a dress mixed with sneakers. Right now, I love playing with proportions of crop tops mixed with a pair of high-waisted wideleg bottoms.

What are some of your favorite local hidden gems or things to do in California…? I love taking Meena (my golden retriever) to a little beach in Corona Del Mar. She loves the ocean and loves to swim for hours. We go there in the mornings when no one is there, and it’s so peaceful and beautiful
Since we celebrate summer all year round’ are there any new swim styles you’re eying?Yes, there are some new silhouettes Billabong is launching in bikinis that I am obsessed with for Spring. I don’t want to give too much away but it definitely fits my style
‘Overall’ what is something that keeps you loving your job + keeps you inspired?I love the brand and what it stands for. I love the passion, dedication, and creativity here from everyone I work with who want to push the brand to the next level. Everyone is open to new ideas and I think that is a way to keep the brand fresh and progressive. That keeps me inspired!
Meet Katie
Tell us a little bit about what you do at Billabong? I’m the Women’s Art Director for all things Marketing related. My work revolves around a photoshoot and in the between time work on creative campaigns for our retail stores and digital concepts.
Any exciting things you’ve been working on lately (we can keep a secret…)? Whether we want to accept it or not, Christmas is around the corner and our team has been working hard on our Holiday campaign that is a wonderful explosion of color! The product is very fun and has been super inspiring for me and the creative team.
How would you describe your everyday style?For the most part, I’m a jeans and tshirt kinda gal. I like to be comfortable and play up a simple look with lots of jewelry, boots, hats or a fun bag. It’s a look I feel that I’m always ready for any spontaneous plans even if it’s a “just add lipstick” kind of night.
Where would you wear this look? Up N Over Overalls+ Dream With Me T-Shirt + Buckle Up Boots + own scarf + own hat
I’d wear this look to work and on a Saturday shopping & exploring with my girlfriends. I love that its comfortable but still looks put together enough to continue into the evening and not having to stop the fun for an outfit change.
What are some of your favorite local hidden gems or things to do in California…? I LOVE spending Saturday mornings at The Original Los Angeles Flower Market in downtown LA. It’s inspiring and therapeutic and I never leave without a spinach, pineapple agua fresca. Follow that up with a PCH or Big Bear run on my motorcycle and Sunday at the Long Beach Flea Market that’s a perfect California weekend for me. I also spend a lot of time exploring the National Parks in California. There’s so many amazing places at our finger tips. I always look for the random thrift stores or local markets along the way to pick up a styling piece to carry that adventure with me later.
Since we celebrate summer all year round’ are there any new swim styles you’re eying? I’m a sucker for red every season! I’m really into the textured tube tops (Fire Eyes Tank) and *spoiler alert* there’s a new bottom called the Maui Rider (think the hike meets the retro) coming in December and I can’t wait to have in every color!
‘Overall’ what is something that keeps you loving your job + keeps you inspired? I’m lucky my job has me working on many types of creative projects with new challenges each season. This constant change and exploration keeps me learning and progressing creatively which I love! I stay inspired by getting outside, unplugging and finding inspiration in other creative fields such as floral design, interior design and painting.
Meet Leila
Tell us a little bit about what you do at Billabong? I am the Women’s Design Director at Billabong… I manage the design team and the design process from the initial sketches to the final finished product that hangs in the store, I review our product every step of the way starting with the fabrics, trims and silhouettes to how it looks and fits on our athletes, models and customers.
I’m lucky enough to have an incredibly talented crew of designers here that make my job extra fun!
Any exciting things you’ve been working on lately (we can keep a secret…)? We have been working on so many amazing projects it’s hard to know where to begin, but two of my current favorites have been collaborating with our athletes to perfect the fit and performance of our swim and working to expand our offering of sustainable and eco-friendly products.
How would you describe your everyday style? I like to have fun with my everyday style and we are fortunate enough to be able to dress as we please in the office!How I dress really depends on my mood, some days very tomboy some days more girly…I typically mix vintage with modern pieces, a ‘street’ twist to every outfit, lots of gold jewelry…. nothing is ever too perfect, dirty sneakers are a typical outfit ‘finisher’ for me!

With the overalls “up” I would wear this to work or for the walk down to the beach… I’d wear the overalls “down” for a concert or the walk back from the beach haha.
What are some of your favorite local hidden gems or things to do in California…? I love the Desert, camping solo in Yucca Valley always re-sets my brain…. The beach at El Capitain with my kids…. Cocktails at Vacation Bar in Santa Ana…Vintage shopping at Scout in LA… late night Tuna Melts at Canters on Fairfax
Since we celebrate summer all year round’ are there any new swim styles you’re eying? I’m really excited about the new drop of our Tanlines Collection… in a shade called Lemon Zest, there’s a new trilet top and high waist retro bottom that I am obsessed with, the color, fabric and fit are insane.
‘Overall’ what is something that keeps you loving your job + keeps you inspired? Hands down the people… from our leadership team to our interns from design to sales to marketing and beyond… the Billabong crew is inspired & motivated and deeply love the brand, it’s a pleasure to come to work every day.
